Fresh water from the ocean (30 September 2008)
Fresh water is increasingly scarce. State-of-the-art seawater desalination plants provide the answer. Environmentally friendly desalination technologies, in particular reverse osmosis, have the best prospects for development. Georg Fischer is in pole position in this segment. Thanks to innovative membrane technology.

Drinking water for the whole population (15 May 2008)
A successful public-private partnership is bringing the Philippine capital's public water distribution network up to date. Over five million people are now connected to the public supply network run by Manila Water. Georg Fischer is one of the project's key suppliers.

Harnessing the power of the sun to produce energy is a key technology of the future. The American firm SunPower manufactures solar cells in the Philippines for solar heating systems. Georg Fischer supplied with piping systems.

"Going up" in a growing market (25 October 2007)
Georg Fischer is the world's largest producer of cast parts for escalators and moving walkways. Every year, some two million aluminium die-cast parts are manufactured. Georg Fischer accounts for just under 30 percent of this total.
