The Corporation has been collecting detailed information on social parameters since 2005. These data, compiled with the help of the Sustainability Information System (SIS), are the basis used for setting targets in this area.
Social goals for 2008-2009
- Attractive employer: To become more attractive as an employer, for example by creating flexible working conditions and jobs in line with employees’ needs.
- Corporate policies: Implementation of the Corporate policies with a focus on the topics of diversity, job satisfaction and motivation, as well as attractiveness as an employer.
- Training and professional development: Development of new, strategically driven training programmes in all three Corporate Groups.
- Training and professional development: Reinforcement of professional networks in the Corporation and raising the qualification level of officers in the areas of environmental protection, occupational safety and human resources/social responsibility.
- Occupational health and safety: All production companies will integrate the topic of occupational health and safety into their management system, which will be certified to OHSAS 18001. By end-2009, 80 percent of production companies will be certified.
- Occupational health and safety: A reduction in the accident and absentee rate by at least 5 percent per annum in 2008 and 2009 in all Corporate Groups.
- Suppliers: By the end of 2009 more than 80 percent of all key suppliers will apply social standards that are comparable with those of Georg Fischer.
